    Chief Executive Officer

    After obtaining her Master of Laws degree in International Human Rights Law, Zena delved into the social service sector to address a vast need, close to home.

    Chief Operating Officer

    Hafsa’s dynamic career includes successful stints in agencies, corporations, and non-profits, showcasing her versatility in navigating diverse professional landscapes. As a strategic leader, she excels in optimizing operational efficiency, fostering collaboration, and driving sustainable growth.

  • Nazish Tayab

    Executive Director

    Nazish brings years of experience in helping communities through programs and services. She has had a successful career in this space and has grown to be a part of the senior leadership team at Sakeenah Canada.

  • Irfan Nakhuda

    Director of Community Development

    Irfan has 15+ years of experience helping organizations and communities connect and thrive, in order to assist those most in need. His passion for giving back started with launching a successful not-for-profit 15 years ago to connect charities with the local Muslim community.

  • Rabia Din

    Chair

    Rabia has worked in the non profit sector for over 15 years, leading large teams and with a strong focus on settlement, mental health and refugee centered issues. With a passion for social justice and advocacy, Rabia has been involved with numerous community initiatives and organizations.

  • Uzma Chaudhry

    Vice Chair

    Uzma Chaudhry is a community family physician with a focus on women’s and children’s health . She is an active member of the community, participating in and leading several initiatives and programs, including piloting a health clinic for refugees and organizing events that foster strong connections in the Muslim community.

  • Hena Awan

    Secretary

    Hena has over 15 years of experience in professional services and is currently Director, Operations and Strategy Enablement at KPMG Canada, supporting strategic initiatives and growth objectives for leadership. Hena is an advocate of equity and inclusion and passionate about serving the community on initiatives that empower women.

  • Nabila Mohammed

    Treasurer

    Nabila is an experienced finance leader who has worked in the not-for-profit sector for over a decade. She has had extensive experience leading a breadth of corporate and business functions, and looks for opportunities to drive strategic value. Nabila values being able to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

  • Ateeqa Butt

    Director

    Ateeqa has over 15 years of experience in education and is currently Character Education Lead at Olive Grove Middle School. Ateeqa is passionate about the wellbeing of youth and has been part of the Tarbiyah Framework Program at Muslim Association of Canada. She has also been part of various youth programs and parenting initiatives in the community including piloting a program for young mothers to get support in an inclusive environment . Ateeqa is also the outreach manager for the Islamic Schools Association of Canada (ISAC). In her spare time Ateeqa likes to read and hike.

  • Huma Saeedi

    Director

    Huma Saeedi is a Registered Psychotherapist who has worked in the psychology field for over 19 years conducting comprehensive assessments and therapy. Huma was drawn to work with Sakeenah after seeing first hand the need for these services for women and children especially in marginalized communities.

    Sarah is a lawyer who is actively involved in both the legal field and the community. She has a passion for social justice and is an advocate for diversity, equity, and opportunity in society at large.
