Anti-Human Trafficking Program

If you suspect you or someone you know is being trafficked please call the 24/7 Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline (1-833-900-1010) as a first step.

At Sakeenah, we offer a comprehensive and holistic approach to supporting survivors of human trafficking. Survivors, as well as individuals currently being trafficked, encounter various barriers to their rehabilitation that intersect in complex ways.

We prioritize a client-centered approach, working closely with residents and clients to develop safety and sustainability plans tailored to their needs before they transition out of their situations.

In addition to providing transitional shelters and emergency hotel/motel placements, we focus on the long-term rehabilitation of survivors through mental health support. Our range of therapeutic programs, available both in-person and virtually, aim to address their specific needs.

Furthermore, we assist clients in accessing medical care by connecting them with physicians and easing the financial burden of medication purchases. Beyond immediate rehabilitation, we support our clients in pursuing diverse educational opportunities and assist them in building their resumes and securing employment.

For those who choose to pursue legal support, we provide access to lawyers and legal aid agencies. Our case managers at Sakeenah are also available to refer residents and clients to external programs in collaboration with other organizations, ensuring they receive comprehensive support tailored to their individual circumstances. All available resources are provided with cultural and religious sensitivity.

In addition, Sakeenah Canada is committed to raising awareness, prevention, and intervention of human trafficking. We offer webinars and in person seminars for individuals such as parents, youth, as well as professionals who work with survivors.
