We have a Zakat policy that has been carefully developed in consultation with scholars and we ensure that 100% of Zakat goes towards eligible programming.

Where Most Needed
Support Sakeenah’s growth as a leading national provider of support services for women, children and families. Your donation here will allow us to put funds to where we need it the most to help the organization to grow and serve more people.

Sadaqa
Your donation here will go to support key Sakeenah programming across the country; from our shelter services, to our mental health therapy program, to our food service program, as well as support our staff and core costs that are needed to help us advance our vision of a society where everyone has safety, serenity, and strength.

Women's Shelter
Our homes are safe spaces across the country for women and children, where they are provided refuge, nutritious meals and essential items. We currently operate 7 homes across Canada: Toronto, Brampton, London, Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg and Milton, with more on the way InshaAllah.

The People's Market
The People’s Market is a program that provides a grocery store experience to those in need and allows them to get the food and essentials that their family needs, with dignity. Our food program closes the gap for clients to get the nutrition they need for themselves and their families.

Youth Programming
Our Foster Care Agency is a program that will help connect Muslim foster children to Muslim fostering families. We are the first Muslim foster care agency in North America and our goal is to provide culturally and religiously sensitive care in a safe and loving home environment to children who are currently in the foster care system.

Note: Sakeenah is committed to managing the resources and funds entrusted to us in a transparent and responsible manner. This includes ensuring specified funds for programs are spent accordingly. However, should Sakeenah receive funds which, for various reasons, are not able to be utilized for the designated programs, donations will be allocated towards programs with the highest need. Zakat donations will only be utilized for Zakat-eligible programs and beneficiaries.
